Audience feedback-
Feedback from our peers and other people has told us the strengths and weaknesses of our film.
For example, one of the strengths of our work was the title cards. People thought the alignment with the music, the music itself and the footage in the background worked really well and strongly suited the genre. This is good because it makes our film more like an actual crime film; therefore people would be more willing to go and see it.
One of the weaknesses of our work according to feedback was the meet up with 'The Boss'. This is quite an unorthodox scene as it takes place in a town centre, somewhere you would not normally expect a drug related meeting to take place. Our audience and peers told us that this could be improved, however we decided to make the executive decision to keep it how it was, as we feel that one of the most appealing things about our film was the fact that it portrays elements of life that are not present for most people; so a drug deal in a public place is what we wanted.
One of the ways we adapted our work to suit our audience feedback was the removal of the scene displaying the use of cocaine. Feedback from our audience including teachers told us that we should remove this scene, as it didn't look very realistic and ruined the film, which up to that point was of a higher standard. We eventually decided to change the entire ending of the film to make it more professional.

Audience feedback for edit 1
The first piece of feedback we got was from George Allan. He mentioned that the sound quality was not really that good and we agreed with him as it spoils the build up for the film. To fix this we have decided to find a new file of the song and replace it with the old one so the sound quality is much better.
We also realised that the title cards were not well edited to the beat of the music. for this we edit this so that it matches perfectly aiming it look professional.
Kamal Singh also added that at the start of the film you would see a certificate of the age ratings and other production companies that were involved. We realised that this was missing and so when we get back to editing for the second draft we will need to add these so it makes it more familiar for the audience.
Halfway through the film Rutendo questioned us about how the main character got from one ned of the platform to the other. We realised that this could be a mistake so we had to fix this. This means that we will have to add footage of the main character moving from one platform to the other.
Another thing that we both realised just after publishing the first draft that at no point does the film name come up on screen and this would cost us lots of marks. So when we get back to editing we need to make sure that this is included.
This is all our audience feedback from the first draft of Small Town Money.

Editing Decision
We are contemplating changing the background of our title cards because we feel having a really quick time lapse of traffic driving through a town would suit the name and theme of our film. Audience feedback will determine whether or not we use this or not.

Editing Decision
We have decided that we are going to change the narrative of our film which will mean re-filming the part that we have highlighted.
We are going to be re-filming this part on the 5th of December.

Fixing our logo in Final Cut Pro
One of the problems we faced was trying to get our logo to be the correct colour in Final Cut Pro. At first it looked like this:
We figured out what the problem was and realised we had to export the picture as a JPEG from Photoshop. We fixed the problem and now our logo looks like this in Final Cut Pro:

Updated Storyboard Feedback
Ben Treloar:
"Looking at the updates of this new storyboard it looks more appealing and I really think you have chosen good music for this production as it build hype."
Hannah Morris:
"There are lots of interesting shots used which will be very appealing to the audience and the start looks like it suits the conventions."
Kamal Singh:
"Yes, this can really work! This is now looking like it will suit the genre and looks like it going to be good. However the ending needs slight working as it may lose focus towards the end."
Matthew Haddock:
"I think that this is going to be more appealing to the audience and the effort you are putting to props and setting is very good."
Looking at this feedback we are confident that we have made a storyboard that we can work with, The feedback is very good and there is very small things that we can improve on as well.

Song option 2
This is the second song we are considering to use in our film. We feel that Arctic Monkeys have a few songs that highly suit the genre we are making so we want to use one of their songs in our film.
Song option 1
We are considering using R U Mine? by the Arctic Monkeys as we feel that it is a suitable song choice that fits the genre we are doing. It may not be our final choice but it is one of the main contenders.

Copyright and legislation
One of the main issues surrounding the main of a film is the copyright issues. This is areas like the music used and who owns the rights. The most important one is the music, this is because through a film a lot of music is used and to actually find a song or track can take time. Especially when you have spent a lot of time finding the perfect track and then not being allowed to use this as the studio or owner refuses you access. Obviously you then cannot use this as you will then be taken to court. Films with high budgets and film studios are commonly seen using pieces of music that is popular and from a more popular artist. For example Fast and Furious seven has artists like Wiz Khalifa but a film like Plastic will have music from artists that are less popular, because they don't have staff and money that are able to hold talks and deals for this. Our film will have music and we are planning to use music from Arctic Monkeys. For this we will need to contact the studio that has the rights to their music and message them to say if we can use the music we want. We will not have an issue because we are doing this for our education and not for a profitable aim. If it was going to be for a profit we probably would be denied because the studio wants their music to be in stronger, well known and potentially stronger films so that they can be represented foreign in films that have had good ratings and views.
Another issue that there is for copyright is who actually owns the rights for films. The law says that if a film has been made after 1994 then it is owned by the author or otherwise known as the director. The film The Wolf Of Wall Street is technically owned by Martin Scorsese. Our film will be directed by Murat Akpunar. So technically it will be owned by him. However they both work in a partnership with Harry Johnston so this means that Harry and Murat will own the rights to the film equally.
A legal responsibility issue that effects film makers is who they can film and where. this is because for example if it is in a town centre people in the town could refuse that they donut want to be filmed and this can make things tricky and waste time. For this they can recruit ammeter models and actors to be in the shot and act what they need to do without facing the legal issue of consent of filming. Our film will be filmed in a town centre and train station. These are areas that are heavily denied with people. But we have planned that people will not be recognises in our film as they will be in the distance. This will stop any filming consent issues. Filming in a trains station will be difficult for us as we are showing that we are carrying drugs. So before filming we contacted the local council for our filming and they have accepted us to film which gives us the right to film at this location. We had to keep it in a small place otherwise it would of been harder to gain access. However bigger film companies will gain access because they have more staff that will be able to control the situation and prevent less accidents.
Censorship is a big issue for directors and film investors. Britain has a negative view of freedom of speech and this can effect the aims of a film. In our film we do have aims to have scenarios of prejudice and swearing that may cause offence but we will address the audience that this has been done for entertainment purposes and not to cause any harm. The people that control censorship in the UK is the government and the laws that are passed. One incident that effected censorship in our film that could of effected our is that in 2004 the film Black Friday was released in cinemas in the UK, however the scene where there is cockfighting is deleted as it goes against cruelty. We were planning to use animals in our film mistreated but cancelled this as it would be very hard to do and many viewers can be offended. Overall censorship is controlled by government and laws that are passed by, also groups that oppose a certain viewing or treatment of something like how violence is portrayed in a film etc.

Original Storyboard Feedback
Matthew Haddock:
"Looking at this storyboard and comparing it to your genre for your media product I think that the start seems to be very boring and that it will struggle to get the audiences attention."
Kamal Singh:
"It Looks very boring and dreary and I don't think it reflects the crime genre."
Hannah Morris:
"It looks like it is going to be a very serious start which can build tension and the start is very unconventional."
Ben Treloar:
"The first needs improving but I really like the ending to this storyboard as you are planning to use a range of different shots."
Looking at this feedback from our storyboard it looks like we are going to have to make a new storyboard. We agree with the comments because we only have two minutes to do the start and it should be gripping and attracting the audiences attention. We still need to use a variety of shots so that it is engaging as well. Crime films tend to have serious starts like The Dark Knight so we will continue this convention onto our next storyboard.

How we came up with the name Small Town Money
The way we came up with Small Town Money took a lot of time. We knew our genre for your film and the main themes so we had to come up with a film name to do with this.
We were trying to find synonyms to do with drugs and crime but we were getting bad suggestions like white paradise for cocaine and other really vague and boring ideas.
We decided that we would not focus on just one word.
We set our ideas and we knew that we would be filming in a small town and be focusing on a drug empire.
We suggested these ideas to our teacher and he said 'town money'. This was a god start for us but we added the theme we would have which is film din a tow so we decided to name it Small Town Money.
We collected audience feedback and Matthew Haddock said ' It is very catchy and easy to remember'.
Arran Nisbet mentioned that it was quite a clever title and that it would really suit our film.

Defining our audience
We have decided from our initial ideas feedback and our questionnaire that we are going to be making a film involving drugs or illegal themes, that are not seen in everyday life. Because of this we are going to trying to appeal to an older audience as young people should not be exposed to some of the themes will that we are possibly going to include in our film, such as drugs and violence. These are common features of the genre so we have to include them to make our film realistic, therefore we will have to try and appeal to an older audience, however not too old, as much older people may find these themes too taboo.

Question For Logo
As you can see here we have just made the question we will be asking to people which logo they like the best for the certain criteria. We have made three designs that we both agree looks good. We will be asking them which one they like and then ask them to tick the box which suited what they like. Straight after we will be filming them on what they have thought on the logo they picked and what made them pick it.

Main task initial ideas Mind Map
Here is our final mind map of all the genres that is possible for us to do. However after a short discussion we decided to get rid os some genres.
The genres that we decided to get rid of were; Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Western and Horror. The reason for this is because these film genres require high budgets and this will be hard to achieve as our budget is much lower and we can't afford expensive effects or going to foreign countries to film. So all these genres had to go because of this problem and most of them on the other hand could not do a good job to the task brief as it was the opening to a film.
The other genre that we got rid of was Comedy, this was because it could be hard to choose and that Comedy had different forms which would be hard to choose from. The other problem is that you would need a sub genre and this can take long to choose and integrate which could be hard to do.
Romance didn't feel appropriate and looked hard to do because we don't know a lot about the genre and the settings are typically luxurious settings which we cannot replicate.
The final genre that we decided to get rid of was Action. The budget requirement would be too much and the effects would probably look out of place and unprofessional. Also, we would probably end up using a lot of action film cliches which would be hard to avoid.
The final three genres that we narrowed our choices down to were the following;
-Crime
-Adventure
-Thriller

AS Media Getting use to final cut pro
Here you can see we are getting to grips with some of the tools of Final cut pro
Here we have discovered the blade tool which allows you to cut the videos and elite the big hunks you don't need.
On this print screen I have discovered how you can detach an audio file from a video clip so the music or other music file cannot be disturbed.
This took a lot of time for me and Harry to learn because we were trying different function buttons above the tabs and we realised that if you double click the audio file detaches.
On this print screen we we decided that we wanted an introduction the the institution of the media clip and the actors names.
This was really easy for us to find because when you selected the moment of the clip and then click
T sign then it gives you options to put in text.
On the print screen below we had new material to edit and add to the clip but the first time the teacher uploaded it automatically but because I have used similar programmes like movie editor i knew there should be a simple tool of uploading the clips.
In one of our clips we wanted a CCTV camera view and we clicked film clip picture and it gave a lot of options and we experimented with a different clip and we decided that this looked good.
This is a print screen of me and Harry finding the security edit.
The editing tool was easy to find and create as you can zoom in the corner to the moment.
This is a print screen of a zoomed view of how you edit a clip.
